We hardly ever used the fireplace beneath, and we had it removed and redid the wall. A miracle occurred when removal of the mirror made the mantle space exactly fit a modern, flat-screen, 56" TV. Hallelujah! The ceramic fruit beneath the TV sits on a Amish cedar chest that miraculously fit between the mantle posts. Hallelujah times two! Merry Christmas, Joan! I seem to be shouting a lot today. ;)
