Yes, Vanessa Lachey is female but it's not like her character was a token addition as they gave her a good back story that fit in with the position she held and provided a good basis for a number of stories. Much like they did with Jethro Gibbs on the original NCIS. I would that Lachey also ends up in another show that I want to watch. So I guess Yasmine Al-Bustami did get written out to save money since they were adding LL Cool J. I was wondering if they were ever going to bring her back as at first they mentioned her fairly often (she was serving as the NCIS officer on board a carrier) but I noticed she was not getting mentioned at all lately.
