To Whom It May Concern:

    After considerable turmoil, I've stumbled into using Thunderbird 
with Eternal-September (a combination well-known to many here), which is 
not only free but far more reliable than anything I've previously used. 
E.g., Thunderbird's filters now seem to work like they're supposed to.
