Do not change this entry. ## 127.0.0.1 localhost 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1 localhost fe80::1%lo0 localhost ----------------------------------------------------------------- My own iMac shows the following (similar but not identical):- ## # Host Database # # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry. ## 127.0.0.1 localhost 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1 localhost _________________________________________________________________ I've read at the link below but am still a little uncertain as to why MY "fe80::1%lo0 localhost" is missing! https://superuser.com/questions/241642/what-is-the-relevance-of-fe801lo0-localhost-in-etc-hosts (I did spot the spelling error "lookback"!) My question is, SHOULD I reinstate the missing line and space or simply leave things as they are? Advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.
