Le nombre de locuteurs, ou la répartition géographique de ces locuteurs ?
"More widely spoken and understood around the world" peut être compris 
de plusieurs façons.

Par ailleurs, d'après Wikipedia, l'anglais n'est langue maternelle en 
Inde que pour 0,0002 % de la poulation, et 12 % l'a en première ou 
deuxième langue, ce qui représente une population deux fois moindre que 
celle des État-Unis, qui parle anglais en langue maternelle.
