And many if not most on-topic discussions quickly drift off-topic anyway; it's the nature of the unmoderated beast. I rarely read or get involved in threads about politics, religion or war, but any discussions related to operating systems, applications, technology, programming, computer languages, databases, distros (including Windows), Microsoft/tech vendors, hardware, and the mental illness / prescription meds of Linux advocates are cool by me.
