My objection has nothing to do with the iPad or the reality or not of the crushing. I find destruction of useful items really disturbing, and the idea that some entity would find this a GOOD thing is disgusting. I hated letting the State of Kalifornia crush my evil car, even though it tried to kill me several times by jamming the accelerator full on. It had a lot of good parts that should have been saved, but that was against the rules. It was stupid to take $100 from the wrecker rather than $1K from the State, but I really hated it. I can't throw useful things away. They go into the Goodwill box. If THEY have to throw them away at least I don't have to watch. Same with books to the library. Maybe this ad balances out the goodness of the 1984 offering. Hrm... Much the same concept... -- Cheers, Bev "Calling someone an asshole for being rude to a telemarketer is like accusing someone who's shot a burglar in his home of being a poor host." -- W.S.Rowell
