Compare them properly, spec-for-spec (or as close as you can get), and you'll find the higher end devices by Samsung, etc. are all similarly priced. Most people who trot out the incorrect "Apple is over-priced" nonsense are blinkered due to Samsung, etc. also making low end devices at cheaper prices, while Apple doesn't. The reality is, you get what you pay for - those low end devices are usually cheaper because they cut corners, use older tech, have less storage or RAM, etc. Yes, buying an iPad (espeically one with an M-series CPU), adding a keyboard and input device bascially does give you a MacBook, so of course the price is simlar. The only real difference between the two at that point is the OS they run and some of the apps they can / can't run. If the prices were extremely different, then the same people would then be complaining about why the prices are different for basically the same device. :-\
