Various unpredictable solutions suggested, including banging the thing hard against the countertop. What this actually is, is a frozen 5V DC toy motor driving a gear that switches pump output water flow direction. If this fails to flip a microswitch at 180degree travel, the controller does not engage the pump and stirrer - full stop. It's possible that banging might unfreeze this motor/ gear-train, but the unit I inspected required reconditioning of the toy motor brushes ~ running backwards/forwards at good speed, in order to regain respectible operating torque. No doubt it will fail for the same reason at some future time. It's a lousy little bodge, for a lousy little design. It's also a nasty disassembly/reassembly. Count your screws. You have to carefully strip off the control panel facia, saving the adhesive surface for later reattachment, in order to get at two of them. Two other screwss are under feet bumpers. The valve motor is under (but attached to) the water pump assembly. Two water connections will need tywrap replacement. This model has been recalled and replaced by the 'Baby Brezza Pro Advanced'. RL
