Do they last longer? No, just so I don't have to throw them away. I buy 2.5" USB 3.2 enclosures for less than $5 shipped and just stick the 500 GB 2.5" hard drives in those. Cheaper than buying a USB drive. I think 3.5" enclosures are a bit more expensive, but it's still the same idea. (They may also last longer, I don't know about that.) https://www.ebay.com/itm/115639980134?itmprp=cksum%3A115639980134ea500a18d88742a2b84c19045e1ebe9b%7Cenc%3AAQAJAAABgP9d%252BMZSXlztIfYFu3kI%252B7ft0VcQix7rTrUVdiJwc2upzwLfM%252B2UEqu0ZqdXqu2qWe6up6s9MSEY%252BWikIwEh4xLkizL%252BG%252Fyhg6cdW4xfkbb75erVQBYYISNxGN1au%252BE0eJ778JYYSAyLJRupNiZky3B2UHpMsaEp7JRgW9fuueOszPlG9eCPE4mSzJx4EejjZE0v1xx3s4HgKujjhEB3s6nKa46cjt76wTpODebYwBFskapYTI57LASFbhwM0e7l3SoYv%252Bichry%252F4ZbJysFEJimhtMhSX8mkMTS8czBD8ThLWVsueZLtjb2jeRAhd0T%252FA71OIO2i30uYSX7Iju89kJi3nPek9ZHvH7F8c8ViaGbZu5fVT1od5gFGPbmxRZugYIW9OBSkCd8g7f1gdXEuozULl4MyH%252FgqE2GSGTWHMbJBpt4jOASGzrzakdQYLe09oUgbdKGiukF%252Bjw3igk9Gb7ITRlIgrzFkbV29s7WgKMkhXcJk78oCHOmVYgFFaD18MQ%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A4481478&itmmeta=01J0KYXVMC6BCT9F3QW8XPKBY0 -- [Self-centered, Woke] "pride is a life of self-destructive fakery, an entrapment to a false and self-created matrix of twisted unreality."
