The Atlantic Makes Trump Look EPIC In Cover Intended as a Smear Inspired by the visual language of old Ray Bradbury and Stephen King paperbacks, Justin Metz created this illustration, which may be the first cover without a headline or typography in The Atlantic's 167-year history. The Atlantic has unveiled a cover that was intended as a smear on Donald Trump, but has ended up creating possibly the best Trump campaign poster yet. The cover shows Trump at the helm of a horse drawn wagon riding through a decimated hellscape only recognisable as Washington DC because of the Capitol building in the distance. Trump has a fist raised, reminiscent of his response to almost being assassinated, and he is holding a whip. In the back of the wagon is a caged elephant, presumably representing the Republican Party.
