Depends if it internet connection is via the cellphone system or a wireless router at home / work. There does seem to be a problem with some routers (especially the cheap ones given out by telecoms companies) when a device goes to sleep, the connection is lost and locked by the router, then when the device reawakes trying to use the same network address, it fails because the modem says the address is "in use" with another device. The same can happen with other devices connected via wi-fi and even ethernet cables, such as a MacBook Pro or printer. Sometimes rebooting the device and / or rebooting the router works, by forcing the router and device to get a new network address. Sometimes giving the device a fixed network address can be a more permanent fix, but may not be practical for all devices.
