The Wikipedia circulation list is only up to date to 2016.  See the
"This article has multiple issues" box near the top of the page.

This list seems a little better:
"Top 100 U.S. Magazines by Circulation"

The New Yorker is 88 out of 100.  Not great, but hardly obscure.
