During a witch hunt, you can certainly rely on politicians. I don't know anything about this Deputy Commissioner. If the investigative process has failed, it should be reviewed and made fit for purpose. But.. the Deputy Commissioner should have a right to due process. Perhaps he will sue, and in a year or two and be given a big compensation payment from public funds. That is a common result of political interference in the UK.
