Today in history, 1927: 45 people are killed and at least 58 are
injured in the worst school massacre in U.S. history. Andrew Kehoe, a
disgruntled school board treasurer, set off bombs at the Bath
Consolidated School in Michigan. 38 of those killed were
schoolchildren.

Kehoe was a difficult and angry person who had been harboring multiple
grudges against the school board and the community. When he lost the
election in April 1926, he began plotting his revenge, buying
explosives and hiding them on his property and under the school. /2
