The term "duality" refers to the observation that in most cases the behaviour of light can be understand with a theory where light is a wave or with a theory where light is a stream of particles. However, there are situations where both kind of theories give an incorrect prediction about the behaviour of light. Therefore both paticle and wave theories are inexact. -- Mikko
