Gas heat is cheaper than electrical air-conditioning. > My base electric bill, no heating or cooling is about $50. My highest bill in the summer was $130. It would be an even graph up and down for the year. In CT, I had a very efficient oil burner for heat and would use about 750 gallons of oil. With the old burner, it was in the 1100 gallon range. Today, about $3 a gallon. I set the temperature for what is comfortable, not to save $5 for the month. We did pay for extra insulation though.
