We have only one venomous snake in Michigan:  the Eastern Massasauga
Rattlesnake.  They live in wetlands and generally try to avoid humans.

The two venomous spiders (black widow and brown recluse) are pretty
rare and are only a problem if you go sticking your hands where you
can't see.

Mileage may vary in other parts of the U.S.
