On another I saw rainbow! And here we go again. Yes: there are OCCASIONS when flying a light plane requires a high level of focus. I never denied that even ONCE, Liarboy. But let's face a few facts. In "marginal weather", you avoid flying, don't you? "Always alert for an ATC call" means not putting cotton in your ears. You're trying to compare listening for a human voice in your headset with the continuous focus that is always necessary when driving a racing car at speed. You talk about the (relatively) brief periods where you actually need to focus... ....whereas a road racing driver might get a couple of moments on the main straight where he can relax his mind just slightly. If there's a rainbow out there when I'm driving, I don't have time to see it.
