Sports, and soaps.
Wimbledon - Huh, well I didn't think Sinner would actually beat Alcaraz
in the men's final. And in just 4 sets. Still, Sinner won his 3 sets by
a single break, so it was close.
Scottish Open - Rory McIlroy was a consistent second, but he could never
overcome the two-stroke lead of eventual winner, American(!?!) Chris
Gotterup. What makes this even weirder is I don't even know Gotterup -
apparently he won one previous PGA event (the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic,
which is a minor PGA event occurring the same weak as the much bigger
Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, NC). Odd that this guy came out
of nowhere to win the Scottish Open, of all things!!
I saw some of the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship
Tournament, the one played at Tahoe, that people like Charles Barkley
and Steph Curry always show up to. An NHL guy, Joe Pavelski, won this year.
I like how in this tournament, bogeys are counted as "even" (i.e. "0
points"), so only double-bogeys or worse actually lower your score in
this one!
soaps: Both Fri's ep's.
DOOL - Xander freaks out when Sarah asks for permission to take
their daughter on a trip with Maggie to Bermuda(?) - he then takes
possession of the child removing it from the Kiriakis mansion.
Meanwhile, Sarah goes to NuPhilip to try to strike a deal with him to
take Xander down and send him to jail. Gwen (Gwen is back!! :D )
refuses to return the necklace to JJ, who is acting like his usual ass
self. The video card sent to Jada and the cops (has been doctored? by EJ
& co.) and appears to incriminate Chanel! (I like that EJ is now
determined to take Chanel down!) so Chanel is questioned by Jada.
GH - NuMichael is as big of an ass as oldMichael, butting in when
Dante is righteously ripping into Brook Lynn; but Dante is a p*ssy, and
backs down to Brook Lynn, even though she should be drop kicked to
Sunday! Tracy tries to talk Chase into talking Brook Lynn down from her
Revenge!! mission (too late!). NuNuLulu talks to Laura about the Rocco
situation. Rocco secretly reaches out to Lisel Obrecht (I wonder if she
will come back to the show now!)... That lil' bitch Trina seems to break
up with Kai when Kai admits that he warned Drew about Curtis admittedly
shady and illegal plan to frame Drew for a crime. Curtis warns Michael
that he's having to knuckle under to Drew's blackmail... Ha! When Vaughn
and Emma get trapped in getting queried by Anna Devane, Vaughn is forced
to call in Josslyn to stage a very public "reconciliation" (kissy face!!
and Josslyn was even wearing a slutty dress to sell it!) to throw Emma
and thus Anna off their trail!
I left "If I Go Missing" on Lifetime on as background noise in the
evening - it's too bad this film is tonally a mess, as there's a kernel
of an interesting idea in here, but I don't think they got to it with
what they did here.
What did you watch?
