ISTM there is one other rather relevant factor that wasn't accounted for 
as well - load on the bar. There was no mention of how much weight the 
rider was placing on the bar on each test. It's likely it was rather 
similar, but even a small variation in the weight on the bar may have 
had a significant effect on any resonances.
