I guess paying someone $10k to move their stuff hasn't occurred to him. In Germany in the late 70s, our barracks were renovated. This involved a simple 3-step process: 1) We moved out to the building next door, which was empty. 2) Renovation proceeded, taking about 6 months. 3) We moved back, installing new wall-lockers (this were nice large wood lockers) as we went. During the move, I helped move Supply. Supply turned out to have a /lot/ of stuff, mostly in very heavy wall-lockers. For those, we used 5/4 truck to cover the 50 or 100 feet or so from one building's Supply entrance to the other's. For our stuff, we did it ourself.
