Yeah, but it's so weird, though the Declaration of Independence isn't 
the Constitution, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" are still 
overarching principles for the creation of this country and legislation 
that makes it easier for people to commit mass murder should be tempered 
by this.  However, white supremacist assholes will still run around 
saying "but but but muh freedoms!" as if encumbering mass killings is
