It is not a name for your Great Mystical Bullshit Allegedly Forcing The Trees To Grow And Fade. It is a name for a coordinate - a purely virtual human made abstract, a part of the language - a human invented schema of describing things. It has nothing in common with the precious results of your precious experiments - except that you apply it when describing them. But, at least - "time is what clocks indicate" is correct.
