From what I have read (I don't use that Wayland junk) a major problem
is that X does not support multiple monitors with differing resolutions
whereas Wayland does.

However, in X multiple monitors are handled through an extension called
"Xinerama,"  and I wonder if Xinerama could be fixed to correct the problem.
