The Milliard is English for a thousand million, which Americans call a
"Billion".

Logically the English runs:
10^3   Thousand
10^6   Million
10^9   Milliard
10^12  Billion (bi-million)
10^15  Billiard  (yes, really ! )
10^18  Trillion (tri-million)
10^18  Trilliard  ....etc.
