There are a sprinkling of people at those demonstrations that simply
go because that's what their leftist friends deem The Grand Cause of the
moment; they go to get brownie points from those friends without having
any real idea of the history or the issues. Those are the clods that
have no earthly idea what "From the river to the sea" even means: they
can't identify either the river or the sea in question.

But the leaders/organizers and most of the attendees know exactly what
is being demonstrated and are eager to try every possible method of
protest to see what the authorities will tolerate. It's pretty clear
that the authorities will tolerate a great deal since they let the
protestors do ALMOST anything they want.

In Toronto, the police actually brought coffee and doughnuts to
pro-Hamas demonstrators that were illegally blocking a bridge in a
Jewish neighbourhood and intimidating the residents. The Toronto police
also did nothing when a pro-Hamas demonstrator threatened to kill a
counter-protestor right in front of them.
