I remember that. I was horrified. He actually hurried down to Cuba a
day or two before Fidel died in the hope that he could see him one last
time but apparently didn't get a meeting.

That probably helped fuel the "Fidel Castro was his father" myth that
you see so often in online comments. (That can't actually be true
because his mother only met Fidel for the first time when Justin was
five - unless, of course, his mother met Castro secretly about 6 years
earlier than the first meeting we know about.)
