The last time I bought a scale, all I wanted to know was my weight in KG. All the new scales provide new features like this one, and in exchange, require the usual: internet enabled, create a user profile, log in before use, agree to a terms of service that is updated frequently. Then they sell your biodata. I didn't buy one, but I'd expect that within a week of first use, many companies that have a financial interest in knowing your medical condition will be updated on things like your biomass, water intake, etc. and you'll start getting interesting adverts for medical "supplements," "try this one weird trick," and the usual garbage. The same business model, in sum.
