i've never actually used tails but it does seem to be popular with its users  
     
never tried using extensions in tor browser, but i have tested ublock origin    
in pale moon browser with streaming movies and series on tubitv, and youtube 
videos (infused with repetitive "mainstream" commercials and "skip" ads that   
seem to follow murphy's law, always interrupting at the worst possible time),
and discovered that ublock origin works as advertised . . . using obs studio   
to record whole movies while displayed full screen in pale moon, for example,   
they play back normally without any commercial interruption (only very short 
pauses where commercials were being skipped, maybe a fraction of one second)   
  
clicking the 'x' to close youtube's "ad blockers not allowed" window and the    
videos played through normally without interruptions, and segued to the next  
sequence without any further ads until loading another video, again click 'x'
