I recently updated much of my PC after 9 years, but not because I was forced to. In our office we tend to use the machines for 15-20 years. E.g., our web server was bought in 2021 and replaced one from 2005. But the 2005-vintage machine is still there and can be used when the need arises. What takes the chance from you to use your hardware for longer if you want to? - anton -- M.
