Actually, it shows Larry's "utter lack of comprehension of the science": If the LT can be derived from simpler postulates that can actually be tested with measurable results, why would we keep an alternate hypothesis that presumes an undetectable ether? That wouldn't be science. The LT is only part of special relativity and the rest goes far beyond that.
