Gunpowder packs a lot more energy per volume or mass than capacitors. A lot. As gasoline packs a lot more energy than batteries. I wonder why that animal injector thing doesn't just use a spring. I have a blood sample lancet thing that has a spring; it works fine. It's cheap and no batteries are required.
