This Week's News

IRTS Radio News Bulletin Sunday October 20th, 2024
     __________________________________________________________________

News from the IRTS

HF newsreaders are currently sought to expand our existing panel,
providing the weekly Sunday morning 40m and 80m news bulletins. The
role involves minimal effort, requires no previous experience, and
offers an enjoyable way to give back to our community. Additionally,
the IRTS news team is considering the reintroduction of a weekly
EI0IRTS news bulletin using Morse code. This was once a popular service
and with a growing interest in this area of the hobby, we are putting
out a call for your feedback to gauge the level of interest in
   participating.

If any licensed IRTS member residing in EI is interested in joining the
IRTS newsreaders panel or participating in the potential weekly Morse
bulletin, please contact the IRTS News Coordinator, Seany EI2HZB, by
phone on 083 4713001 or via email at irts_pro /at/ irts.ie for further
   information.

The IRTS Examination Board would like to remind those that have not yet
registered for the next HAREC examination, that the examination will be
held on the 16th of November 2024.

The location for the exam is the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport,
Stockhole Lane, Clonshagh, County Dublin, K67 X3H5. The doors will open
from 10.30 a.m. for registration and the exam itself will commence at
11 a.m. sharp. The exam is two hours long and finishes at 1 p.m. The
closing date for applications is Thursday the 7th of November. As there
are a limited number of places, anyone wishing to sit the exam should
forward their application along with the appropriate fee. The
application form and the payment details can be found at
www.irts.ie/exams You can also contact Mick EI6IKB by email at
irts_exams /at/ irts.ie if you have any other queries about the exam or
   its location.
