Just posting this so that my last reply doesn't leave you confused.

I accidentally submitted my last post before I was done with it.

Then, while trying to complete the post by explaining the strategy that
I used in the paper, I think I stumbled on an observation that allows me
to make the same argument but doesn't require asserting something
unproven.

But I need fresh eyes for it since it may be nothing. I shall complete
my reply tomorrow
