What I mean is, as you are free to chose what you want, it's your choice
to have something expensive or not. So, the price is a reason to chose
your tld, not a reason to chose to host your website.

Yes, there are, if you have a simple website well isolated, you can be
safe. If you have a bloated not understood website, there are. But the
security issues shouldn't be a concern only if you host your website. If
your website has security issues, it will be broken, even if it's not
running in your personal computer.
