The fact that you want to ask shows that there is still hope.

I believe that you (& maybe all Hawaiians) need a bit of a refresher
on the chronologcal metrology of tooting vs. honking.

Think of a train: "Honk, Honk, Toot - Honk".

A toot is just long enough to get attention. A honk means you are angry.

And do not confuse that with an extended honk that means:

"Heads UP! Make way! Pay no attention to the traffic lights.
THIS truck is going too fast to stop before the intersection."
