He says that Waikiki was pretty much deserted, which was a strange thing to see. No tourists from China, Japan, Canada, etc. My brother likes it that way. Tomorrow, he flies to Oakland, then he's off to Asia. He likes to wake up at 5AM and run around Leahi crater (Diamond Head) and then run around Ala Moana Park. He says it's an 11 mile circuit. My brother is not like you or me. For lunch we had an old time Hawaiian dish - beef cutlet. This was a popular plate lunch item back in the 60's - 70's. These days, we don't see it so much in menus. My uncle used to prepare beef cutlets for his lunch wagon. I remember him in a little shack pounding sliced beef in cracker crumbs on an aluminum pan. It made a crunching sound that I can still hear to this day. https://photos.app.goo.gl/JYKkEu8wp8hLxWkB7
