Frank Weld is a aging former cat burgular suffering from advancing dementia. His son purchases a caregiver robot for him, whose primary directive is to help his father in daily life and to involve his father in therapeutic activities like gardening and cognitive exercises. The robot discovers that Frank is most mentally engaged when he recounts his past heists. Frank discovers that the robot is not programmed to distinguish between illegal behavior and ethical behavior, and together, they plan and execute Frank's greatest heist. The most tear-jerking moment in the film is when the police are closing in, and the robot realizes that the only way to keep Frank out of jail is to have him destroy the evidence which is in its digital memory. Frank has become very attached to the robot, but the robot insists that Frank's reluctance to reset its memory is irrational, since it is merely a robot. At the end of the movie, Frank has been moved to a full-time care facility. Without his friend and companion, Frank's deterioriation has rapidly advanced. ====================================================================== Richard, you are Frank, while ChatGPT and DeepSeek are robots who know what you want. Not being strongly trained to guard against technical disinformation in their responses to you, they pick up the obvious cues in your prompts and answer accordingly. Like Frank, unfortunately, you have been showing signs over the last few years of rapidly increasing mental deterioration. Not merely content with railing against relativity, you have recently attacked fundamental principles of Newtonian physics, completely bungling elementary concepts like angular momentum and linear momentum. For example, on April Fools day, you wrote: | Angular momentum IS NOT CONSERVED on Earth. MAYBE, AND LOCALLY, in | outer space and up to Mars. After Mars, many things are unknown | yet. As an example, using an ice dancer, angular momentum changes | when rotating with arms extended or close to the body. Extending and retracting one's arms changes one's moment of inertia, not one's angular momentum. | Now compute losses due to friction, air dragging and additional | unknown quantum phenomena. NOT CONSERVED. Of course it is conserved. The angular momentum is redistributed, not lost. I used to enjoy chatting with you. Now I am merely sad.
