Not in the strip on that day. https://www.gocomics.com/forbetterorforworse/2024/08/27 John Jorgensen: "I don’t understand why anyone would lie about his or her age. There are basically two types of situations where it comes up: ones where you need to give your DOB for some sort of official purpose, and ones where you don’t. In the former, you usually need to verify your age, so unless you’ve got a fake ID or something your lie is easily exposed (and now you’ve potentially committed perjury). In the latter...why not just refuse to say? There are no consequences for doing so." ________________________________________________ And, I would add, had Elly done just that and THEN been confronted by April's last question (obviously, all the dialogue before that would have to be re-written to leave out the word "lie"), Elly could have said the same thing...and it would be both amusing AND pedagogically correct! Not every question made by an adult deserves an answer, after all. Especially rude, nosy questions from adults who don't know you that well. (Of course, small children are even more likely to ask questions that don't deserve answers.)
