Also realize how he (correctly) describes Beethoven’s pc5 as pompous and
how he dislikes this pomposity…

Yet Tchaikovsky PC1… which is fucking pompous as well, and Tchaikovsky‘s
pompousness in general is really in bad taste — especially when compared
to Beethoven — this all gets a blind eye by Dan… because he loves them
Russians and has some resentment towards Germans ;)
