If you can surf adequately and play MP4s then you're usually good. With Linux, even the old Pentium Core2/Core2Quad chips will get you there. I think Core2Quad was the last in the line that still ran 8/16-bit code native. Still have one of those boards and it works. Really NOT that bad.
