C'est la dose qui fait le poison. On appelle LD50 la dose qui tue dans 
un cas sur deux.
Par exemple la LD50 par ingestion du chlorure de sodium (le sel de 
cuisine) est de 3g par kg par jour : un adulte qui ingère 225 g de sel 
de cuisine a une chance sur deux d'en mourir.
