You've read the longest hint in >InvisiClues history." or something to that effect. Yeah, but credit where it's due: it's one of the most MEMORABLE puzzles in computing history. I take pride in that I solved that puzzle all on my lonesome, albeit largely through trial and error (and sheer obstinance). It helped, of course, that I was familiar with the source material so I knew what the ultimate goal was. Without that, I'm not sure I would have kept at it so long. Then I proceded to keep playing and got stuck at that bit at the end which was dependent on you doing something _right_ at the start of the game (I forget exactly what; something to do with the microscopic starfleet, I think). After several months of frustration, I realized I had to restart the game... but by then I'd forgotten how I'd solved all the puzzles the first time around. Then I found out I'd _still_ fucked up. The game got shelved for a while but eventually I dug it up and (with the assistance of a walkthrough from some BBS) I _finally_ got past that sticky bit and finished the game. The things you had to do for entertainment before your had a video game library numbering in the thousands ;-)
