You see, this is exactly what I’m arguing for (apart from the fact that
it actually is mutilation of one’s body whether one decides this himself
or not).

So if it is a personal matter, why did your parents decide this for
you?

In a discussion with an Orthodox Jew I argued that one should at least
let the people decide themselves…. (Sure they will be telling me the
story of how Abraham said that it should be done when one still is an
infant because it’s less painful then it sth…)

It seems in some ways what you said here about the Bible dumbing people
down can also be applied to the Torah lol…

Actually I am the only one in this ng who actually care about other
people‘s suffering , while y‘all are mostly concerned with yourselves
