Instead of denying the physics of the greenhouse effect, it denied that there was any necessity to act to prevent global warming - because of more complex factors, such as natural climate cycles, there was really no problem, but these ideologically-driven fanatics kept going despite their actions causing an ice age. So in the debate about cutting emissions in response to the threat of global warming, it was clear whose side he was on, and it was not the side of the angels - or the side of Greta Thunberg.
