Furtwängler is also kind of mushy — like the way he sort of connects the
opening chords in Beethoven 5… and Furtwängler exaggerates the moment at
minute 0:21/22… it makes me laugh, I can’t take it seriously… sounds a
bit forced imo…

But Furtwängler as opposed to the Kleibers and Karajan seems to phrase
things much better generally… not as hurried… same seems to be the case
with Konwitschny…
