I am hearing that following Ncuti Gatwa's departure from the show Doctor
Who is to continue next year with three or four special episodes
featuring David Tennant as The Doctor. These special episodes will
follow on from the events in the War Between the Land and the Sea
spin-off series due to air later this year on D+. The 14th Doctor's
companion for these special episodes will be Rose Noble, played by
Yasmin Finney. Bad Wolf TV are hoping that Catherine Tate will reprise
her role as Donna Noble in some of the episodes.

Currently only three Doctor Who specials are pencilled in for 2026;
Easter, Halloween & Xmas. If extra funding comes through from D+ - or
another partner - a fourth special episode could be added to the
schedule. Possibly New Years Eve/Day. There will be no series three next
year. The special episodes are to fill the gap and are being viewed
within the BBC as a better option than putting the show on hiatus with
all the negative publicity that would then en-sue for one of its
flag-ship television programmes.

It is also rumoured that Russell T Davies will leave the show after the
specials.
