IOW, they dishonestly and ignorantly claimed that simple correlation implied causation, ignoring any other extenuating conditions. Krygowski, of course, nodded his approval of the fallacious nonsense. Some people think and do what they're told to think and do by people they have chosen to tell them what to think and do.
