I don't see a contradiction here. Most ethnic, linguistic, religious,
and racial groups are large enough to contain, entirely within
themselves, enough genetic variety to avoid an inbreeding catastrophe.

Fortunately, in addition to the ethical argument against genocide,
we usually have the practical argument that targeted groups can,
and usually will, fight back.
